Trantor for Open Source

Trantor's open contributes.

Technological sovereignty also comes from code you can read: we build on open source, give contributions back upstream, and publish the tools we develop for ourselves.

What we are working on

TRANTOR PROJECT
Trantor QRcode format

The public specification of the QRcode format (AES-256-GCM, key derived with Argon2id): anyone can verify the cryptography and decode our QRcodes (if you have the password).

TRANTOR PROJECT
Trantor Scriptorium

The Markdown editor and converter all Trantor documentation is written with: an extended dialect with advanced tables, diagrams and cross references, and a single rendering toolchain for web, PDF and manuals.

TRANTOR PROJECT
Trantor® FidEmu

The FIDO2 device emulator (CTAP2) for automated testing: PIN handling, configurable user verification (UV=0 or UV=1) and consent given through an interactive prompt or granted automatically for end-to-end tests. Born to exercise Imago’s FIDO2/WebAuthn flows without a physical key.

UPSTREAM CONTRIBUTION
YugabyteDB ported to RISC-V

Porting the YugabyteDB distributed database to the RISC-V architecture: builds, patches and benchmarks developed on our systems and contributed upstream, for a truly open hardware ecosystem.

UPSTREAM CONTRIBUTION
PowerDNS EL10 RPM package for RISC-V

The PowerDNS RPM package for Enterprise Linux 10 on the RISC-V architecture: spec file, reproducible build and packaging tests, so that authoritative DNS installs with dnf on open hardware too.

UPSTREAM CONTRIBUTION
Ceph EL10 RPM package for RISC-V

The Ceph RPM package for Enterprise Linux 10 on the RISC-V architecture: a build of the whole stack, compatibility patches and checks on real clusters, bringing distributed storage where it did not reach before.

UPSTREAM CONTRIBUTION
Envoy ported to RISC-V

Porting the Envoy proxy to the RISC-V architecture: toolchain, patches and regression tests contributed upstream, bringing cloud-native networking to open hardware too.

repo.trantor.it/OpenTrantor/tvirt-riscv-toolsREPOSITORY BEING PUBLISHED

The code appears on github.com/OpenTrantor as it is published; the RISC-V RPM packages for Envoy, PowerDNS, Ceph and YugabyteDB will instead live on repo.trantor.it/OpenTrantor/tvirt-riscv-tools, our package repository, currently being built. The list will grow: more internal tools are being prepared.

OUR COMMITMENT

Trantor products stand on open source foundations: when we improve them, the patches go back upstream. That is how software stays verifiable, and sovereignty stays real.
