DIGITAL WORKSPACE · COLLABORATION AND REMOTE ACCESS

VDesk

The digital workspace, installed inside your company.

Encrypted chat, calls and meetings; files with granular permissions; remote desktops and VDI right in the browser. One platform, one installation, one tenant: yours, in your own datacenters or with the provider you choose, region by region, jurisdiction by jurisdiction.

WHY VDESK

Operational work comes back in-house

The paradox of our times: never so much attention to digital sovereignty, never so much dependence on overseas SaaS suites. Declared data boundaries do not move the jurisdiction of whoever holds the data; and meanwhile remote access to workstations lives in a separate contract, with another vendor and another price list. VDesk unites the three things operational work asks for every day, and brings them back in-house.

Communicate

Group chat with search, video calls and video conferences with invitations and a calendar. End-to-end encryption.

Share

Files and folders with granular permissions, robust chunked uploads, redundant object storage.

Reach

RDP, VNC and SSH remote desktops in the browser, no client required, with VDI pools and VM power-on.

One platform. One contract. Under your own roof.

ONE INSTALLATION, ONE TENANT

VDesk is not a multi-tenant service you rent a slice of: every organization has its own installation, on its own servers or with the provider it chooses. The installation is organized into regions (Rome, Milan, Naples, or your own), each with its own data residency and its own jurisdiction, federated with one another. With three nearby sites a region survives the loss of a datacenter without losing a single piece of data; and every region has a twin ready to take over.

“The digital workspace is not a service you rent. It is infrastructure you own.”

THE PLATFORM

Six reasons to bring it in-house

Everything operational work needs, designed together, not integrated afterwards.

Chat and meetings

One-to-one and group conversations with full-text search and archives; video calls and video conferences with invitations, moderation and an integrated calendar. End-to-end encryption, and quality that adapts to each participant’s network.

Remote desktops and VDI

RDP, VNC and SSH in the browser, with no client to install. Pools of interchangeable workstations with session affinity and per-member capacity; Wake-on-LAN and automatic VM power-on on TVirt. Several sessions at once, in independent tabs.

Files, permissions, space

Folders and files with granular permissions for users and groups, chunked uploads that resume from where they stopped, redundant object storage replicated within the region. Copy and move with no surprises.

Enterprise identity

Users and groups synchronized from LDAP and Active Directory, OTP second factor, application tokens for integrations. RBAC with secure delegation: administrators cannot grant more power than they hold.

Operational sovereignty

One tenant per installation, never a slice of somebody else’s cloud. Regions pin data residency by jurisdiction. And GDPR is a feature, not paperwork: personal data export and the right to be forgotten are native APIs.

Resilience by design

With three nearby sites, losing a datacenter loses no data and stops no work; every region has a standby twin. Updates drain components before touching them: active sessions are never cut.

TOGETHER WITH TVirt© AND TVSTOR

Compute, storage and workspace: the complete Italian platform, from a single point of contact, with the power-on of virtual workstations orchestrated by VDesk.

WHAT IS INCLUDED

Features, as standard

One product, one contract: everything that follows is included, not a price list of modules.

Communicate and share

  • One-to-one and group chat with managed participants, archives and full-text search across messages

  • Video calls and video conferences with invitations, roles and moderation: promote, mute, remove

  • Integrated calendar: scheduled meetings, events and notifications

  • Adaptive quality (simulcast): everyone receives the right stream for their own network

  • Contacts and presence, with real-time indicators

  • Files and folders with granular ACLs, resumable chunked uploads, copy and move

Reach your workstations

  • RDP, VNC and SSH in the browser, with no client to install or update

  • VDI pools: interchangeable workstations behind a single name, with least-load selection

  • Session affinity: users who disconnect get their own workstation back, within the chosen window

  • Per-member capacity: the cap on concurrent sessions respects your licenses (CALs)

  • Wake-on-LAN and VM power-on on TVirt: a powered-off workstation starts the moment it is needed

  • Multiple sessions in independent tabs, with session tokens never written to the logs

Platform and governance

  • LDAP and Active Directory: users and groups synchronized, with configurable local precedence

  • Second factor (OTP) for users, and centralized management for administrators

  • RBAC with secure delegation: roles and grants with non-amplification, so nobody grants what they do not hold

  • GDPR as an API: privacy summary, personal data export and the right to be forgotten, all native

  • Searchable audit log and batch operations to administer at scale

  • Clients behind firewalls: port 443 is all it takes, audio and video included

  • mTLS between all components and hardened, minimal-surface components

  • Common Criteria EAL4 readiness, for the environments that require it

  • Documented REST API (OpenAPI) with an official JavaScript library

  • Updates without cutting sessions: components drain before restarting

POSITIONING

VDesk and the alternatives

Before the comparison, a note of honesty: VDesk is not an office suite; it sits alongside e-mail and document editing rather than replacing them. The comparison is about day-to-day operational work.

THREE QUESTIONS TO ASK EVERY VENDOR
  1. 1.

“Where do messages, files and sessions live, and under which jurisdiction?”

    VDesk answers in writing.

  2. 2.

“Is my tenant mine, or a slice of somebody else’s cloud?”

  3. 3.

“How many platforms, and how many contracts, does it take for chat, files and workstations?”

SOVEREIGNTY

In-house, for real

Sovereignty is not a label on a brochure: it is a set of verifiable properties. These are VDesk’s four.

Data in-house

The installation is yours, and there is a single tenant: yours. Regions pin where data lives, and under which jurisdiction, site by site.

The identity is yours

Users and groups come from your LDAP or Active Directory; second factor and RBAC with secure delegation complete the perimeter. No account in somebody else’s cloud.

Open doors

Documented REST API (OpenAPI) with an official library; standard protocols everywhere: RDP, VNC and SSH for workstations, S3 for storage, LDAP for identity.

Your data leaves with you

Personal data export via API, files downloadable in the clear, inspectable configuration: reversibility is a feature, not a negotiation.

Encrypted by design

mTLS between all components, end-to-end encryption on communications, session tokens never in the logs, and clients need nothing more than port 443, even behind the strictest firewalls.
